Post Labor Day Newness and Occasional Series Introduction

As I type it is the first unofficial day of fall, aka the Tuesday after Labor day. It is like a new year’s day of sorts, or at least to me it feels that way. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that my children will now be back in school making my home office a little more. . . well. . . office-y. Whatever the reason I always see this day on the calendar as a moment in time that ushers in the new. So in that spirit, I want to introduce a couple of new occasional content themes I’ll be touching on this fall.

The first is The D Files, Marketing and Sales Disconnected. I’ll be rolling out the first episode hopefully this week. (candidly I’m pitching an episode around to some other sites and typically they don’t want it published prior). When I do officially roll it out, I’ll provide a more detailed description of what you can expect. But in the meantime, the quick summary is that the D Files is a video series that will highlight the post imagem labor daymost common areas of disconnect between marketing and sales. It will be a little fun and certainly tongue and cheek, but the issues will be real. The objective is to help marketing professionals realize that their content marketing efforts have to significantly improve and sales professionals to realize that they must be active participants in content development (and then commit to using it in their deal cycle).

I’m also going to be offering up some reviews of podcasts and video series that I find valuable. Actually, I did the first one earlier today giving a review of Scott Monty’s new podcast The Full Monty show. The idea here is to create a podcast and video series directory of sorts that not only suggest the different shows but insight into why I think they work and what you can learn from them.

Lastly I’m going to share some of my thoughts regarding the influendcers in the marketplace that I have gained value from. There is so much content to consume, there are so many personalities in the industry, and so little time to discover them all that I figured I would do what I could to help you gain a better perspective on who’s who, what they talk about, and information that will help you decide if their insight is relevant to your efforts.

Like I said, post labor day always feels like a begin anew type of time, so that is what motivates these efforts. I hope you find them valuable.
