Leading is a Decision for Unity Over Division

Today on Cap’s Car Cast a rant on leadership.  Not necessarily a rant, but more of an impassioned plea for anyone who bothers to listen to understand that leadership is a decision.  The decision is one made for unity.  It is easy to divide, but much harder to unite.

We build trust through conflict.  We set purpose around something that matters to us as individuals, and we lead by uncovering the passion of purpose that rests in the hearts of those that we seek to lead.  Leadership is about everyone regardless of who or what it is they are leading.  There is an ability in all of us to make a decision to focus on the negative or the positive.  Focusing on the positive is harder work but inspires us as individuals to seek to do more, to feel good about doing more, and to infect others with that same inspiration.

Leading is a decision, and is focused on quieting the disruption of discontent.
